Everyday a child goes to school hungry, without the appropriate school supplies, without decent clothes or shoes, worried about perhaps not having a home, not being able to succeed in class because they can’t see the chalkboard, or they can’t concentrate on the material because their parents lost their job.  All of these issues prevent a child from being able to fully engage in their studies. Communities in Schools of Arizona is focused on changing that.

school supplies to clothing and shoes, to helping a family in need with a food box or getting the electricity turned back on and even finding healthcare providers. More importantly, we provide a caring adult that will help a child dream big again, and believe that they are magical and loved. There is no task to small or too large.

77% of the children that we serve are Latino, which is why we are expanding our endeavors. We take pride in assisting where the need calls for our efforts. Currently, we are building a department that will be concentrated on Latino community outreach. We are confident that if we inform the Latino community of the great things we are doing, we will get their support and involvement. In addition to this, we are committed to enriching our staff by providing basic conversational Spanish phrases to better serve our Latino community. The organization is currently coordinating a Spanish class for all the staff.  Imagine what a smile and a simple phrase can say to a person with a language barrier.

No child is ever left behind due to personal circumstance. Immigration status is never asked nor does it eliminate a child from receiving services and participating in our programs.

Our vision is to pave the road for a student to graduate and become CIS Arizona places individuals in local schools to help. Our team believes that if we are able to bring much needed resources into the school, we are providing every opportunity for that child to succeed. CIS Arizona is here to help.

How we help- is simple. Our dream team eliminates any roadblocks from backpacks and a healthy, educated adult. Where there is no hope, there are no dreams. Please join us in giving each child the hope to dream big again. Every child has a light bulb ready to be switched on and CIS Arizona will not dim the light but instead we will ignite the fire.
