Focus On

The FOCUS ON is a series of free informational meetings that provide resource information and networking opportunities. CISA believes that by providing school and agency staff with information about accessible community resources, we give them the opportunity to go out and foster their own partnerships and connections.

FOCUS ON Sessions are two-hours in length and held once a month from September through April. All sessions provide information regarding children and family services that can be useful to schools in the Phoenix Metro area. Each individual session is focused on a particular need in the community. Speakers from accessible organizations provide quick presentations on the services available, who is eligible and how to access them. They also bring pamphlets, brochures, fact sheets and other helpful materials. After the presentations there is a brief Question and Answer period.

Attendees usually include representatives from schools as well as community organizations that serve children and families and are interested in providing health and human services. School social workers, nurses, parent liaisons, outreach workers, family support specialists and others involved with students and families are typical audience members.

The 2008-2009 school year marks FOCUS ON's twelfth year of providing this community service.
